The Study of Leviticus

1.5 saa za mkopo

Maelezo ya Kozi

The Book of Leviticus is central to understanding the holiness of God, the nature of worship, and the sacrificial system that points to the redemptive work of Christ. This course offers a detailed theological study of Leviticus, focusing on its rituals, laws, priesthood, and festivals, all of which were designed to teach Israel how to live in covenant relationship with a holy God.

From a Reformed theological perspective, students will learn how Leviticus prepares the way for the gospel, revealing both the problem of human sin and God's gracious provision of atonement through substitution. The course will highlight how the priesthood, sacrifices, and purity laws are fulfilled in Christ and how the themes of holiness, worship, and community shape the New Testament Church.

Special attention will be given to African cultural parallels (e.g., ritual purity, sacred space, priestly mediation) to guide students in addressing local beliefs with biblical truth and gospel clarity.
