Message

From the Principal

It is my joy to welcome you to Shekinah Theological Seminary (STS), an institution founded upon the Word of God for the purpose of preparing faithful servants for the work of the Gospel.

STS was officially established on August 17, 2025, with a commitment to Scripture, sound doctrine, spiritual formation, and practical ministry. The Seminary provides theological education in both Kiswahili and English, helping students grow intellectually, spiritually, and ministerially.

Our desire is that every student will be equipped to serve Christ faithfully and to proclaim the Gospel with clarity and conviction.

"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."

2 Timothy 2:2

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

Shekinah Theological Seminary (STS) affirms the Christian faith in communion with the one holy universal Church of Christ, grounded in the authority of the Holy Scriptures and shaped by the heritage of Reformed Theology. STS upholds the Apostles' Creed, the Westminster Confession of Faith, and its Catechisms as faithful summaries of biblical doctrine. These convictions form the theological foundation for teaching, research, spiritual formation, and ministry training.

1

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 canonical books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, the final authority, and the only rule of faith and life. We reject the Apocryphal or Deuterocanonical books as part of the inspired canon.

2

God and the Trinity

We believe in one eternal God, Creator of all things, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father ordains salvation, the Son accomplished redemption through His death and resurrection, and the Holy Spirit applies salvation and equips believers for service.

3

Creation and the Fall

We believe that God created all things for His glory. Man was created in the image of God, but through Adam's fall, sin entered the world, leaving all mankind spiritually dead and unable to save themselves.

4

Eternal Election

We believe that God chose His people in Christ before the foundation of the world, not because of human works or foreseen faith, but according to His eternal purpose and grace.

5

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Believers are justified by the righteousness of Christ and progressively sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

6

Perseverance of the Saints

We believe that all who are truly saved by God's grace will persevere in faith and holiness to the end, being kept by the power of God.

7

The Church and the Sacraments

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, with Christ as its Head. Christ instituted two sacraments: Baptism and the Lord's Supper, as signs and seals of His covenant grace.

8

Worship and the Christian Life

We believe that true worship must be offered to God in spirit and truth, according to His Word. Christians are called to live lives of faith, holiness, service, love, and Gospel witness.

9

Marriage and Family

We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God for His glory, family life, spiritual fellowship, and procreation.

10

Civil Government

We believe that civil authorities are ordained by God to maintain justice, peace, and order. Christians are called to honor and obey lawful authorities.

11

The Return of Christ and Final State

We believe that Christ will return in glory to judge the world, complete the salvation of His people, and bring believers into the fullness of eternal life.

Our Pillars

Holy Scripture

We hold the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, our supreme rule of faith and life.

Historic Doctrine

We faithfully teach the doctrine of the early Church and the Protestant Reformation.

Practical Ministry

We prepare pastors, teachers, and servants for the work of spreading the Gospel.

"Maandiko yote yameandikwa kwa pumzi ya Mungu, na yanafaa kwa mafundisho, na kwa kuwaonya watu makosa..."
