Maelezo ya Kozi
This course provides a theological and historical study of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther as a collective witness to God's providence, covenant faithfulness, and the spiritual restoration of His people during and after the Babylonian exile. Together, these books highlight the return from exile, the rebuilding of Jerusalem (both the temple and the wall), the reinstitution of proper worship and law, and God's hidden yet sovereign hand in preserving His covenant people in a foreign land.
Ezra focuses on the spiritual leadership and reforms centered around the Word of God and temple worship. Nehemiah emphasizes practical leadership, national repentance, and rebuilding the city's physical defenses. Esther, though unique for not mentioning the name of God, powerfully displays divine providence through the preservation of the Jewish people under Persian rule.
This course explores major theological themes such as divine sovereignty, repentance and reform, leadership and prayer, covenant continuity, and God's care for His people in diaspora.
