Maelezo ya Kozi

This course provides a comparative study of the major world religions with a focus on theological understanding, worldview analysis, and missiological engagement from a Reformed Christian perspective. It aims to equip students with a biblical framework for understanding non-Christian religions and responding to them with truth, compassion, and gospel clarity.

The course surveys the beliefs, practices, historical backgrounds, and cultural impacts of major world religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, African Traditional Religions (ATRs), Chinese religions (Confucianism and Taoism), and new religious movements. For each religion, students will examine its view of God, humanity, sin, salvation, and the afterlife, comparing these doctrines with the Christian gospel.

By engaging both primary texts and representative practices of these religions, students will gain insight into how religious beliefs shape cultures and influence daily life. The goal is to prepare Christian leaders to engage respectfully yet confidently in cross-cultural mission and apologetics.
