Maelezo ya Kozi
This course introduces students to the biblical, theological, and practical foundations of Christian ministry. It is designed to help those already engaged in service to better understand the nature of ministry as a divine calling rooted in God's redemptive purposes. Students will explore the identity, purpose, and function of ministry through the lens of Scripture, with emphasis on servant leadership, the ministry of the Word, spiritual character, and the building up of the Church.
Grounded in Reformed theology, this course affirms that ministry is not human invention but God's design for equipping His people and glorifying His name. The course will explore various aspects of pastoral and lay ministry including preaching, teaching, discipleship, shepherding, prayer, and church governance. Students will reflect on the example of Christ, the apostles, and faithful ministers throughout church history.
Practical application will focus on ministry in the African context, addressing real-world challenges such as leadership abuse, moral integrity, discouragement, financial stewardship, and contextual discipleship. Students will be encouraged to evaluate their calling and to develop a biblical philosophy of ministry that is faithful, fruitful, and sustainable.
