Maelezo ya Kozi
This course provides a comprehensive study of Homiletics, the art and theology of preaching. Rooted in the Reformed tradition, it trains students to proclaim God's Word faithfully, clearly, and powerfully for the edification of the Church and the advancement of the gospel. Students will learn how to interpret Scripture rightly, develop sermon outlines, apply biblical truth to real-life situations, and deliver sermons with pastoral conviction.
At the heart of Reformed homiletics is the centrality of Christ in all Scripture (Luke 24:27) and the authority of the preached Word as a means of grace. The course emphasizes expository preaching, where the main point of the sermon is the main point of the text, applied to the lives of hearers. Attention is given to sermon structure, clarity, persuasion, doctrinal soundness, and Spirit-empowered application.
Students will practice preaching, receive feedback, and develop a theological vision of preaching that fits both local church ministry and broader African gospel needs, including how to preach amid syncretism, false teachings, moral confusion, and suffering.
