Christian Ethics in African Context

1.5 saa za mkopo

Maelezo ya Kozi

This course explores the foundations and application of Christian ethics, with special attention to the African cultural, social, and spiritual environment. Students will study the biblical principles of right and wrong, the nature of moral responsibility, and the ethical implications of the gospel for individual and communal life. From a Reformed perspective, ethics is not separated from theology; it flows from God's character, His Word, and the transformation wrought by grace in the believer's life.

The course engages key moral challenges in the African context—such as corruption, polygamy, sexual immorality, family structure, witchcraft, tribalism, poverty, prosperity gospel, and political injustice—offering biblically faithful responses rooted in Scripture, not cultural norms or emotional relativism. Students will learn to cultivate holy character, moral courage, and wise pastoral guidance in applying ethical truth to complex real-life situations.
