Maelezo ya Kozi

This course provides an in-depth exploration of Ecclesiology, the doctrine of the Church. It examines the biblical foundations, historical development, theological understanding, and practical implications of the nature, mission, and structure of the Church.

Key topics include the definition and marks of the true Church, the Church as the Body of Christ, the relationship between the universal and local Church, the offices of the Church (elders, deacons, pastors), sacraments or ordinances (baptism and the Lord's Supper), church discipline, unity and diversity in the Body, and the Church's role in mission and society.

The course also reflects on the Reformation heritage of ecclesiology and contemporary challenges such as denominationalism, ecumenism, digital church models, and the mission of the church in a secularizing world.
