Administration of Sacraments and Ordinances
Maelezo ya Kozi
This course provides a theological, liturgical, and pastoral study of the administration of the sacraments and ordinances in the life of the Church, with a firm grounding in the Reformed tradition. The course focuses specifically on the two sacraments instituted by Christ—Baptism and the Lord's Supper—as means of grace, signs and seals of the covenant, and visible words of the gospel.
Students will explore the theological meaning, proper recipients, mode, and frequency of each sacrament, with special attention to covenant theology, union with Christ, and the role of the Holy Spirit. Baptism will be studied as a covenantal sign of initiation into the visible Church. The Lord's Supper will be explored as a means of spiritual nourishment, communion with Christ, and the Church's visible unity.
Students will be equipped to conduct sacramental services with reverence, theological clarity, and pastoral care, recognizing their role as shepherds and stewards of God's mysteries.
