Maelezo ya Kozi
This course is a hands-on, practice-based training in the preparation and delivery of biblical sermons, grounded in the principles of Reformed theology and expository preaching. The Sermon Practicum is designed to equip students not only to understand homiletical theory but to apply it in the actual construction and preaching of sermons.
Students will be guided through the entire sermon development process—from selecting and exegeting a biblical text, identifying the redemptive theme, formulating a clear sermon structure, and crafting applications that are doctrinally faithful and pastorally sensitive. Emphasis will be placed on Christ-centered preaching that reflects the unity of Scripture and the glory of the gospel.
Throughout the course, students will prepare and preach multiple sermons in class, receiving constructive feedback from instructors and peers. The course will also address issues such as voice control, clarity, movement, emotional engagement, pastoral tone, and theological depth.
This practicum fosters spiritual discipline and personal growth, encouraging preachers to embody the message they proclaim with humility, conviction, and pastoral love.
