Maelezo ya Kozi
This course offers a comprehensive theological study of the twelve Minor Prophets, from Hosea to Malachi, often referred to collectively as The Book of the Twelve. Though termed "minor" due to their shorter length, these books carry major theological weight, addressing critical themes such as covenant faithfulness, justice, judgment, repentance, hope, restoration, and the coming of the Messiah.
The course introduces the historical, literary, and theological contexts of each prophetic book, showing how the prophets spoke to specific moments in Israel's history—ranging from the divided kingdom to the post-exilic period—while also proclaiming timeless truths about God's character and purposes. Students will examine the relationship between the prophets and the covenant, the role of prophetic warning and promise, and how these writings anticipate the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Each prophet will be studied for its central message, structure, key themes, and enduring application. The course will emphasize the unity of the twelve books, highlighting their literary and theological coherence as a single scroll in the Hebrew canon.
