Maelezo ya Kozi

This course explores the development, content, and enduring significance of the historical creeds of the Christian Church, with a focus on their theological depth, ecclesial unity, and confessional clarity. Students will study major ecumenical creeds such as the Apostles' Creed, Nicene Creed, Chalcedonian Definition, and Athanasian Creed.

The creeds emerged from the early Church's need to summarize and defend the apostolic faith against heresies, clarify essential doctrines, and unify believers across diverse contexts. In the Reformed tradition, these creeds are affirmed as faithful summaries of biblical truth.

Students will be encouraged to memorize, recite, and teach these creeds with pastoral sensitivity and theological precision, understanding them not as outdated relics but as living declarations of faith.
